Cherry Angel Food Trifle - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 angel food cake, cubed or crumbled
    2 c. powdered sugar
    2 (3 oz.) pkg. cream cheese, softened
    2 (8 oz.) Cool Whip
    1 c. toasted pecans, chopped
    2 (21 oz.) cans cherry pie filling
Preparation
    Mix sugar and cream cheese.
    Beat until blended.
    Reserve 4 tablespoons Cool Whip.
    Fold remaining Cool Whip into cream cheese mixture.
    Stir in pecans.
    Pour over cake cubes.
    Mix well.
    Spoon cake mixture into a pretty glass or bowl.
    Spread cherry pie filling evenly over the top (or, if desired, layer half the cake mixture and cherry pie filling, repeating layers).
    Cover and refrigerate at least 3 hours.
    Garnish with reserved whipped topping.
