Aunt Mabel'S Cumberland City Tennessee Dumplings - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
    2 tsp. Crisco or butter
    3/4 c. hot chicken broth
Preparation
    Mix to form soft dough. Roll dough out very thin (1/8-inch) on lightly floured surface.
    Cut into 2 x 3-inch rectangles and sprinkle lightly with flour.
    Drop dumplings into boiling broth. Cook, uncovered, over medium heat, stirring often, until dumplings sink (about 5 minutes).
    Serve with chicken and vegetables.
    (I prefer to prepare mine before cooking when I add the salt to the flour mixture.)
