Nutty Caramel Corn - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    12 c. popped corn
    3 c. salted peanuts
    2 c. brown sugar
    1 c. butter or margarine
    1/2 c. light corn syrup
    1 tsp. baking soda
    2 Tbsp. vanilla extract
Preparation
    Place popcorn and peanuts in a 15 x 10-inch jelly roll pan (or large, deep baking dish).
    In large saucepan, combine brown sugar, butter and corn syrup.
    Bring to a boil over medium heat.
    Boil for 2 minutes, stirring constantly.
    Remove from heat and add soda and vanilla.
    Mix thoroughly and pour over popcorn/peanut mixture, mixing well.
    Bake at 250\u00b0 for 35 minutes (stir after baking 15 minutes and again after baking 30 minutes).
    Remove from pan immediately; cool completely on sheet of foil.
    Store in airtight container.
    This makes a great gift at Christmas!
    Makes 15 cups.
