Ingredients

1/2 c. mashed potatoes
3/4 c. sugar
1 egg
1/2 c. milk
2 c. flour
2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
powdered sugar
Preparation

Combine potatoes, sugar, egg and milk in a bowl.
Sift the flour, baking powder, salt and nutmeg together and stir into the sugar mixture.
Roll out on a floured surface and cut with a doughnut cutter.
Drop into deep, hot fat and fry until golden brown.
Drain and roll in powdered sugar.
Makes 3 dozen.
