Black And Gold Marble Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 sq. unsweetened chocolate
    3 Tbsp. hot water
    3 Tbsp. sugar
    2 1/2 c. sifted flour
    2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. baking soda
    1 2/3 c. sugar
    3/4 c. shortening
    1 c. plus 2 Tbsp. buttermilk
    1 tsp. vanilla
    3 eggs, unbeaten
Preparation
    Melt chocolate and add hot water and sugar and stir until smooth.
    Combine dry ingredients.
    Stir shortening enough to soften and sift in dry ingredients.
    Add buttermilk and vanilla and mix all until flour is dampened.
    Beat 2 minutes at low speed.
    Add eggs and beat 1 minute.
    Pour half of the batter into a second bowl.
    Add chocolate mixture and blend well.
    Alternate plain and chocolate mixtures and pour all into baking pan.
    With a knife cut through batter once in a wide, zigzag course to marble.
    Bake 30 to 35 minutes at 350\u00b0 in a greased and floured oblong pan.
