Swiss Steak - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. round steak
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 small onion, chopped
    1/4 c. chopped green peppers
    1 c. boiling water
    1/2 c. flour
    1/8 tsp. pepper
    2 Tbsp. Crisco
    1 c. stewed tomatoes
Preparation
    Wipe meat with clean damp cloth.
    Cut in 2-inch square pieces. Mix flour, salt and pepper together and pound into meat.
    Brown onion and meat in Crisco.
    Add green pepper, tomatoes and water. Cover and cook slowly 1 1/2 hours or until meat is tender.
    Serve over rice or noodles.
