Christmas Nut Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. enriched all-purpose flour
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking powder
8 oz. candied pineapple, chopped
8 oz. candied cherries, chopped
8 oz. pitted dates, chopped
4 1/2 to 5 c. nuts, chopped
1 c. sugar
4 eggs, separated
1 tsp. vanilla
2 Tbsp. butter or margarine
Preparation

Sift dry ingredients over fruit and nuts.
Cream sugar with egg yolks, vanilla and butter.
Fold in egg whites, which have been beaten until stiff, but not dry.
Fold in fruit-nut mixture. Pour into greased and floured loaf tins, 2 to 4, depending upon size of tins.
Bake at 275\u00b0 for 1 1/4 hours.
