Pink Pears - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 pears, halved, pared, cored
    1 can diet raspberry or strawberry soda pop (12 oz.)
    1 tsp. cornstarch
    1 Tbsp. water
    1 (8 oz.) lite Cool Whip
Preparation
    Place pears cut side down in large skillet.
    Add 1 cup soda pop.
    Cover and simmer until pears are tender 8 to 10 minutes.
    Mix cornstarch and water.
    Stir into liquid in skillet after removing pears and placing one pear in each dessert dish cut side up.
    Cook liquid mixture, stirring constantly until mixture thickens and boils.
    Boil and stir 1 minute.
    Pour into pear half.
    Pour 1/2 cup remaining pop into Cool Whip.
    Mix to color.
    Top each pear. Serves 8. Makes 65 calories.
