Overnight Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 head lettuce, shredded
    1/2 c. chopped red onion
    1/2 c. chopped celery
    1/2 c. chopped green pepper
    1 pt. mayonnaise
    1 Tbsp. sugar
    3/4 c. grated sharp Cheddar cheese
    10 slices cooked crumbled bacon
Preparation
    Place lettuce in serving bowl.
    Top with onion, then celery and then green pepper.
    Cover vegetable layers with mayonnaise. Sprinkle with sugar, cheese and then bacon.
    Cover tightly and refrigerate up to 24 hours.
    Makes about 8 salad servings or 4 entree servings.
