Tamale Pie - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 1/2 lb. ground beef
1 medium onion, diced
1/2 c. cooking oil
1 Tbsp. butter
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1 egg, lightly beaten
1/2 c. milk
1 clove garlic, diced
1 Tbsp. chili powder
1 lb. can tomatoes
1 lb. can whole corn
1 can ripe olives
1 c. yellow corn meal
Preparation

Brown meat and onion in butter and oil until onions are tender; drain meat mixture.
Add garlic, salt, chili powder, tomatoes, corn and olives.
Cook about 15 minutes.
Combine egg and milk; add to corn meal slowly.
Add to meat mixture a little at a time, stirring well.
Pour into a greased casserole in 350\u00b0 oven and bake for 1 hour.
Top with grated sharp Cheddar cheese and melt the last 10 minutes of baking.
