Hush Puppies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. cornmeal
    2 tsp. flour
    1/4 tsp. baking soda
    1/2 tsp. salt
    3/4 c. buttermilk
    3 Tbsp. chopped onion
    1 egg
    1/2 tsp. baking powder
Preparation
    Mix dry ingredients together.
    Beat egg; add buttermilk and onion, mixing well.
    Stir into dry ingredients; drop by teaspoonful into hot grease at 375\u00b0.
    Drain on paper towels, then serve while hot.
    Makes 12 to 18 hush puppies.
