Mama'S Vegetable Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    soup bone
    1 pkg. stew meat
    1 large onion
    2 stalks celery
    1 large can or jar tomatoes
    salt, pepper and red cayenne pepper
    1/2 c. barley
    chopped green pepper
    1/8 to 1/4 head cabbage
    2 sliced carrots
    1 small can green beans
    1 small can whole kernel corn
    3 potatoes, cut up
    1 turnip, cut up
    small amount spaghetti
Preparation
    Using a large pot, put soup bone (make good broth) and stew meat together with onion, celery and tomatoes.
    Add enough water to fill 3/4 pot.
    Add salt, pepper and red cayenne pepper.
    Cover. Simmer several hours or half or all day.
    Skim off fat; discard bone.
    Add barley, green pepper, cabbage, carrots, green beans and corn.
    Cook for at least 1 hour.
    Then add potatoes, turnip and spaghetti.
    Correct seasoning, adding more water if necessary. Cook 15 more minutes.
    Makes a large amount.
