Marinara Sauce - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 c. olive oil
2 large garlic cloves, chopped
2 large, fresh tomatoes, peeled or 2 lb. canned tomatoes
5 Tbsp. fresh basil or parsley, chopped
1 tsp. fennel seed (optional)
Preparation

Heat the oil in a heavy pan over medium heat until warm. Add the garlic\tand cook until soft. Cut tomatoes into 1-inch pieces and add to the pan along with the basil and optional fennel seed. Cook for 25 minutes, stirring often. Pour into a blender or use a stick blender and puree. Return the sauce to the heat and season with salt and pepper. Simmer over medium heat for 10 minutes to reduce slightly. This sauce is great over fish, pork, poultry or pasta.
