Vanilla Cream Pie Filling Or Pudding - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. flour
    1/3 c. sugar
    1/4 tsp. salt
    3 c. milk
    3 egg yolks, slightly beaten
    1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
    1 Tbsp. butter
Preparation
    In saucepan mix flour, sugar and salt; add milk gradually, stirring until smooth.
    Cook over medium, heat until thick, stirring constantly.
    Remove from heat.
    Add small amount of cooked mixture to beaten egg yolks, then add this mixture to the cooked mixture.
    Return to heat, cooking until it begins to boil.
    Remove; add vanilla and butter; cool.
