Sweet-Sour Red Cabbage - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 c. (1 medium head) shredded red cabbage
    2 tart apples, peeled and chopped
    1/4 c. packed brown sugar
    1/2 c. water
    1/4 c. vinegar
    1 tsp. salt
    dash of pepper
Preparation
    Combine all ingredients in medium saucepan.
    Cover and simmer for about 1 hour (until cabbage is tender).
    Stir occasionally. Makes 5 to 6 servings.
    This recipe can be cooled and put into the freezer.
