Crunchy Hush Puppies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. self-rising corn meal
    1/4 c. self-rising flour
    1 onion (chopped)
    1/2 c. sweet milk
    1 egg
    1 Tbsp. oil
    2 c. oil
Preparation
    Sift corn meal and flour together. Stir in onions. Mix milk, egg and 1 tbsp. oil together. Heat 2 cups oil in heavy duty sauce pan. Oil should be at least 3 inches deep so hush puppies will be round. Pour milk mixture into corn meal and flour and stir. Immediately drop by teaspoonful into hot oil; cook until brown (about 1 minute). Remove with slotted spoon and drain on paper towels. Serve hot.
