Lemon Sauce - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 c. sugar
1 egg, beaten
1/2 c. butter
3 Tbsp. hot water
1 Tbsp. grated lemon rind
3 Tbsp. lemon juice
1/8 tsp. salt
Preparation

Combine sugar and egg in a double boiler; stir well.
Add butter and remaining ingredients, stirring well.
Bring water to a boil.
Reduce heat to low; cook, stirring constantly, until smooth and thickened.
Serve warm over pound cake.
Yields 1 1/3 cups.
