Penuche Frosting - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. brown sugar
    1/4 c. milk
    1/4 c. margarine (shortening)
    pinch of salt
Preparation
    Place over low heat, bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Boil hard 1 minute.
    Remove from heat.
    Beat until lukewarm.
    Add vanilla.
    Beat until can spread.
    (Add cream if needed.)
