Filling For Cherry Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 can red, tart cherries
    3/4 to 1 c. sugar
    4 Tbsp. flour
    1/2 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 c. juice (from draining cherries)
    1 Tbsp. butter
    3 drops red food coloring
    1/4 tsp. almond extract
Preparation
    Drain cherries into separate bowl.
    Put cherries and all ingredients, except butter, into saucepan.
    Cook slowly until thickened.
    Pour into unbaked 9-inch pie shell.
    Add pieces of butter.
    Top with lattice top.
    Bake as usual.
