Country Cornbread Dressing - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. chopped nuts
    1/2 c. green onion slices
    6 c. crumbled cornbread
    6 c. dry bread cubes
    1 1/2 tsp. poultry seasoning
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
    1 1/4 c. water
    1 c. celery slices
    3/4 c. butter or margarine
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    2 eggs, beaten
Preparation
    Saute nuts, celery and onion in 1/4 cup butter.
    Add to combined cornbread, bread cubes, poultry seasoning, salt and pepper; mix well.
    Gradually add water, eggs and remaining 1/2 cup butter; toss lightly.
    Lightly stuff dressing into 12-pound turkey.
    Roast according to standard directions.
    Makes 2 1/2-quarts of dressing.
