Ingredients

1 (10-inch) unbaked pie shell
1 c. sugar
3 Tbsp. flour
2 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. salt
3 eggs, separated
1/2 c. melted butter
2 c. buttermilk
Preparation

Heat oven to 425\u00b0.
Chill pie shell.
Mix together sugar, salt and flour.
Add egg yolks which have been slightly beaten.
Add buttermilk, butter and flavoring.
Blend well.
Beat egg whites until they peak when beaten.
Then fold into custard mixture. Pour into unbaked pie shell and bake for 10 minutes, then lower heat to 325\u00b0 for 30 minutes or until pie is firm.
