Mixed Nut Brittle - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    1 c. light corn syrup
    1/2 c. water
    1/2 c. margarine or butter
    1 c. raw peanuts
    1 c. raw cashews, chopped
    3/4 c. slivered almonds
    1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
Preparation
    Butter 2 large baking sheets.
    Butter the sides of a heavy 3-quart saucepan.
    In saucepan, combine sugar, corn syrup, water and 1/2 cup margarine or butter.
    Cook over medium heat to boiling, stirring constantly with wooden spoon.
    This should take 5 minutes, then cook 30 to 35 minutes.
    Stir in nuts.
    Stir frequently 15 to 20 minutes; remove from heat.
    Quickly sprinkle sifted baking soda over mixture, stirring constantly.
    Immediately pour into baking sheets; let cool.
    Pull apart with forks.
    Store tightly covered.
