Spiced Nuts - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 1/2 c. pecan halves
1/2 c. water
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. vanilla
Preparation

Heat pecans in moderate oven at 375\u00b0 for 5 minutes.
Stir once.
Butter sides of heavy saucepan (2-quart size).
In saucepan, combine water, sugar, cinnamon and salt.
Heat and stir until sugar is dissolved and mixture boils.
Cook with stirring to soft ball stage or 236\u00b0.
Remove from heat.
Beat by hand for 1 minute or until mixture just begins to act creamy.
Add vanilla and the warm nuts.
Stir gently until nuts are well coated and mixture is creamy.
Turn out on buttered cookie sheet or wax paper.
Separate at once using two spoons or forks.
