Cheese Icebox Wafers - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. butter, softened
    2 c. (8 oz.) shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
    1 1/2 c. flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
    pinch of ground red pepper
    pecan halves
    paprika
Preparation
    Cream butter; add cheese, flour, salt and pepper and mix until blended.
    Shape dough into two 6-inch rolls.
    Wrap in wax paper; chill for 2 hours.
    Unwrap and cut into 1/4-inch slices; place cut side down on ungreased baking sheets.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 12 minutes or until lightly browned.
    Top each wafer with a pecan half. Sprinkle with paprika.
    Let cool on wire rack.
    Yields about 4 dozen.
