Cabbage Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 ham bone, boned
    3 mushrooms
    2 potatoes
    2 carrots
    2 1/2 c. sauerkraut, drained
    1 medium chopped onion
    1 tsp. caraway seed
    1/2 onion, minced
    3 Tbsp. flour
    3 Tbsp. bacon fat
    salt and pepper to taste
Preparation
    Slice mushrooms into strips, cut carrots and potatoes into pieces.
    Combine ham, mushrooms, carrots, potatoes, sauerkraut, onion and
    caraway seed into 8 cups water.
    Simmer for 1 hour. Brown the minced onion in bacon fat, thicken with flour.
    Add to soup, stirring constantly . Add sauerkraut juice .
    Simmer another 15 minutes.
    By this time, the meat has fallen off the meat bone. Remove the bone and serve.
