Bread And Butter Pickles - cooking recipe
Ingredients

25 cucumbers of medium size
12 onions
1/2 c. salt
1 qt. vinegar
2 c. sugar (white)
2 tsp. celery seed
2 tsp. pickling spice
1 tsp. dill seed
Preparation

Soak cucumbers and onions in ice water sufficient to cover with 1/2 cup salt for 3 hours.
Scald 1 quart vinegar, sugar, celery seed, dill and pickling spice.
Put in cucumbers and onions.
Just heat through.
Put in hot jars and seal (process). Simmer in hot water bath for 15 minutes.
