Country-Style Butter Biscuits - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/3 c. shortening
2 c. all-purpose flour
3 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1/4 c. firm butter
about 3/4 c. milk
Preparation

Heat oven to 450\u00b0.
Cut shortening into flour, baking powder and salt with pastry blender in a large bowl until mixture resembles fine crumbs.
Cut butter into 1/4-inch pieces.
Toss with flour mixture.
Stir in just enough milk so dough leaves side of bowl and forms a ball.
Turn dough onto lightly floured surface, gently roll to coat.
Knead lightly 10 times.
Roll or pat 1/2-inch thick.
Cut with floured 3-inch cutter.
Place about 1-inch apart on ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake 12 to 15 minutes until golden brown.
Brush with butter.
Serve.
