Chili - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. pinto beans or red beans
    2 Tbsp. salt
    1 tsp. sage
    2 to 3 large chopped onions
    2 to 3 Tbsp. chili powder
    1 Tbsp. cumin powder
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    2 small cans tomato sauce
    1 1/2 lb. extra lean hamburger
    1 qt. tomato juice
    1 qt. chopped canned tomatoes
Preparation
    Wash beans and soak overnight.
    Pour off water using fresh water to cook beans.
    Cook beans to partially done.
    Brown hamburger and onions.
    Add to partially cooked beans.
    Add other ingredients; simmer 4 hours.
    Makes 4 quarts.
