English Tea Scones - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 egg, slightly beaten
    buttermilk
    2 c. all-purpose flour
    1/4 c. sugar
    2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    6 Tbsp. butter
    1/2 c. raisins, currants, dried cranberries or snipped, dried, tart, red cherries or apricots
    1/2 c. white baking pieces
Preparation
    Place egg in a 1-cup liquid measuring cup.
    Add enough buttermilk to equal 1 cup; set aside.
    In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder and salt.
    Cut in butter until it resembles coarse crumbs.
    Stir in raisins and baking pieces.
    Add buttermilk mixture.
    Stir, just until dough clings together.
