Apple Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 c. apples, sliced and peeled
    2 c. sugar
    2 c. flour
    1 tsp. salt
    2 tsp. cinnamon
    1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
    3/4 c. oil
    2 eggs, well beaten
    2 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. chopped nuts
    Cool Whip
    vanilla ice cream
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
    Peel apples; slice thin and place in large bowl. Add sugar; toss and let stand 15 minutes.
    Mix dry ingredients; add to apples.
    Stir to coat.
    Add remaining ingredients.
    Stir by hand to mix well.
    Bake in greased and floured 13 x 9-inch pan at 350\u00b0 for 50 minutes.
    Serve warm or cool.
    Top with vanilla ice cream and Cool Whip.
    Store uncovered.
