Butterscotch - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. brown sugar
    1/2 c. butter
    1 1/2 c. water
    1/4 c. molasses
    1 Tbsp. vinegar
Preparation
    Boil sugar, molasses, vinegar and water together for 2 minutes, then add the butter and keep on boiling, without stirring, until mixture becomes brittle when tried in cold water.
    Pour into a buttered pan; when nearly cool, cut with a sharp knife.
