Plain Jane Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

3 c. sugar
1 c. butter or margarine
1/2 c. Crisco shortening
5 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. lemon or almond flavoring
3 c. plus 5 Tbsp. flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 c. milk

Preparation

Cream sugar, butter and shortening.
Beat in eggs and flavorings.
Sift flour and baking powder together and add alternately with milk to creamed mixture.
Mix well.
Pour in a greased and floured tube pan.
Place cake in a cold oven.
Turn heat to 340\u00b0 and bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes.
