Homemade Vegetable Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 large head cabbage, cut up
    8 large potatoes, peeled and diced
    6 carrots, chopped
    4 celery stalks, chopped
    1 onion, chopped
    3 cans tomato juice
    3 lb. ground beef, fried and drained or 3 lb. beef roast, cooked
    1 can corn
    1 can green beans
    1 can peas
    2 cans tomatoes
    1/2 c. brown sugar
Preparation
    Boil first 5 ingredients in 2 cans tomato juice until tender. Add beef, corn, green beans, peas, tomatoes and another can of tomato juice.
    Bring to boil; add salt and pepper.
    Then add brown sugar.
    This freezes real well!!
