Quick Apple Butter - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    16 large apples
    3 c. water
    1 box pectin
    1 Tbsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. allspice
    1 tsp. nutmeg
    7 c. sugar
    2 to 3 drops red food coloring
Preparation
    Core and quarter the apples.
    Remove all seeds.
    Cook apples in water in kettle until tender.
    Cool and put apple sections in blender to make a smooth pulp.
    Put apples back in kettle and add pectin, sugar and spices.
    Cook over medium heat for 5 minutes. Stir constantly as this mixture will burn easily.
    Blend in 2 to 3 drops of red food coloring.
    Store in jars in refrigerator or put in jelly jars topped with melted wax.
    Very good on toasted bread.
