Cheese Straws - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. Bisquick baking mix
1 c. grated Cheddar cheese
2 Tbsp. shortening
1/2 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. cayenne pepper
1 egg yolk
2 tsp. water
Preparation

Preheat oven to 400\u00b0.
Blend biscuit mix, grated cheese, shortening, salt and cayenne pepper.
Mix with fork to consistency of coarse crumbs.
Add egg yolk and water to form stiff dough. Knead a few times and roll to 1/4-inch thickness on surface sprinkled with flour.
Cut into strips.
Place on ungreased baking sheet.
Bake 10 to 12 minutes.
Yields 19 (6 x 1/2-inch) straws.
