Fried Apricot Pies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/3 c. shortening
    2 c. self-rising flour
    2/3 c. ice water
    1 pkg. dried apricots
    1 c. sugar
    1/4 tsp. ground allspice or cinnamon
    oil (for frying)
Preparation
    Combine shortening and flour in work bowl of food processor. Pulse several times until mixture resembles cornmeal. Sprinkle with ice water and pulse briefly until water is mixed into dough. Remove from work bowl; cover with plastic wrap and allow to rest for 30 minutes.
