Irene'S Potatoes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 medium potatoes
    2 c. grated Cheddar cheese
    1/3 c. green onions, chopped
    1/2 stick butter plus 2 Tbsp. for top
    2 c. sour cream
    salt and pepper to taste
Preparation
    Boil potatoes in jackets, then peel.
    Chill potatoes, then grate.
    In a saucepan, melt butter and add cheese until it almost melts.
    Take off heat and add sour cream and onions; salt and pepper.
    Pour sauce over grated potatoes and fold carefully until mixed.
    Place in oblong pan.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 45 minutes.
    Dot 2 tablespoons of butter on top.
