2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1 1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 c. Crisco
1 c. buttermilk
Preparation

Heat oven to 450\u00b0.
Put dry ingredients in a large bowl.
Cut in shortening until it looks like meal.
Stir in almost all of the buttermilk.
If dough is not pliable, add just enough milk to make it soft and easy to roll.
(Too much milk makes dough sticky.
Too little makes the biscuits dry.)
