Applesauce Fruitcake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 cups applesauce
    2-lb. mixed candied fruit
    1 med. jar cherries
    1 lb. dates
    2-1/2 cups raisins (1 box)
    2 blocks margarine
    2 eggs
    2-3/4 cups flour (all-purpose)
    2 cups sugar
    2 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. cloves
    1 tsp. salt
    2 tsp. soda
    1 lb. chopped pecans
    3/4 cup flour (to dredge fruit in)
Preparation
    Cream butter and sugar; add eggs.
    Mix spices with flour and sift; add to creamed mixture.
    Heat applesauce; add to batter. Dredge fruits and nuts in 3/4 cup flour and add fruits to batter and mix well.
    Grease 4 large loaf pans; place waxed paper in bottom.
    Divide batter in pans and bake at 325 degrees about 1 hour and 15 minutes or until done.
    Makes 4 large loaf cakes (2-lb) or 8 small gift-size cakes (1-lb.).
