Sweet And Sour Dressing For Wilted Lettuce - cooking recipe
Ingredients

6 slices bacon
1/2 c. sliced green onion
2 tsp. flour
4 tsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1/3 c. water
1/4 c. vinegar
leaf lettuce or Swiss chard
Preparation

Fry bacon until crisp, drain and put aside.
In the same skillet, cook onion in 1/4 cup of the bacon grease.
When onion is tender, blend in flour, sugar and salt.
Add water and vinegar. Cook and stir until thickened.
Pour hot mixture over leaf lettuce or Swiss chard.
Garnish with the crumbled bacon slices.
Serve immediately.
