Fettuccine Alfredo - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    12 oz. fettuccine noodles
    1/4 c. butter (1 stick)
    1 c. heavy cream (1/2 pt.)
    1 egg yolk, slightly beaten
    salt and pepper
    3/4 c. Parmesan cheese, freshly grated
Preparation
    Cook noodles as directed on package.
    While noodles are cooking, heat butter over double boiler until melted.
    Stir in beaten egg yolk, cream, grated cheese and salt.
    Heat, stirring with whisk occasionally, until smooth.
    Drain noodles; toss with cream mixture until evenly coated.
    Serve with Parmesan cheese and pepper.
