No Cook Mint Patties - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/3 c. light corn syrup
1/4 c. butter or margarine, softened
    1 tsp. peppermint extract
    4 c. sifted powdered sugar
2 drops of red food coloring
2 drops of green food coloring
Preparation
In a small mixing bowl, combine the syrup, butter and peppermint extract; beat until well blended.
Gradually add 2 cups of the powdered sugar, beating well.
Stir in as much of the remaining powdered sugar as you can with a spoon.
Turn out onto a surface lightly coated with a little powdered sugar.
Knead in enough of the remaining powdered sugar to make a stiff dough that is smooth.
    Divide into thirds.
Using 1/3 of the dough, knead the red food coloring in until evenly distributed.
Knead the green food coloring into another 1/3 of the dough.
    Leave the remaining dough white.
Shape the dough into 3/4 inch balls; place 2 inches apart on baking sheets lined with wax paper.
Press with tines of a fork.
In necessary, dip the fork in powdered sugar to prevent sticking.
    Let dry several hours.
    Makes about 75 mints.
