Spud Nuts - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 c. scalded milk
    1 pkg. yeast, dissolved in 1/4 c. warm water and 1 tsp. sugar
    1 c. mashed potatoes
    1/2 c. shortening
    1/3 c. sugar
    2 eggs
    4 c. flour
    2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Mix together and knead until smooth.
    Place in greased bowl and cover with damp cloth to rise.
    Roll dough out on lightly floured surface to 1/2-inch thickness.
    Cut doughnuts out; let rise, then fry in 1 quart of oil.
