Nok Qui Vi(Texas Style) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 onion, chopped
    3 cloves garlic, minced
    3 Tbsp. corn oil
    5 c. chicken stock
    2 c. drained, canned hominy
    2 large carrots, cut into 1-inch lengths
    1 c. turnips, diced
    1 (4 oz.) can green chilies, drained and chopped
    1 tsp. cumin
    salt and pepper
    1 to 2 jalapeno peppers, sliced
Preparation
    Saute onion and garlic in a 4-quart stock pot until onion is soft.
    Add remaining ingredients, except jalapeno peppers.
    Bring to boil; cover and simmer gently for 45 minutes.
    For hotter stew, add peppers when stock comes to a boil.
    Serve hot with fry bread and honey.
    Serves 6 to 8.
