Chocolate Covered Cherry Balls - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
1/2 c. cocoa
1/4 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 c. butter, softened
1 c. sugar
1 egg
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
2 (10 oz.) bottles maraschino cherries, drained and juice reserved
1 (6 oz.) pkg. semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/2 c. sweetened condensed milk
Preparation

Combine flour, cocoa, baking powder, soda and salt.
Cream butter and sugar until fluffy.
Add egg and vanilla, beating until smooth.
Gradually add dry ingredients to creamed mixture, beating until smooth.
Shape dough into 1-inch balls; place on ungreased baking sheet and press thumb into center of each.
Place cherry in center of each cookie.
Combine chocolate chips and milk in small saucepan.
Heat until chocolate is melted.
Stir in 4 teaspoons reserved cherry juice.
Spoon about 1 teaspoon frosting over each cherry, spreading to cover.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for about 10 minutes. Cool on wire rack.
Yield:
4 dozen.
