Homemade Soap - cooking recipe
Ingredients

6 gal. water
2 cans lye
4 lb. lard or old grease
Preparation

Cook until it becomes thick.
To test it put a little in a saucer;
if
it
is
thick like jelly when cool it is ready. Skim bubbles off top like you would jelly.
Then let it set and cool. When it
becomes firm mark off bars on the top.
Let set for 24 hours
and harden.
Cut out bars, wrap in paper, store. It will keep a long time, real good when boiling clothes.
