War Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

3 packs raisins
1 lb. mixed nuts
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. allspice
1 tsp. ginger
1 tsp. cinnamon
2 c. sugar
2 c. boiling water
2 tsp. soda
1/2 c. boiling water
pinch of salt
4 c. flour

Preparation

Let first 9 ingredients boil 5 minutes.
Let cool 8 minutes. Mix soda in 1/2 cup boiling water.
Add salt and flour.
Mix altogether and bake in large pans.
