Aunt Lydia'S Chocolate Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

4 c. brown sugar
1 c. lard
8 eggs
1 1/2 c. sour or buttermilk
1/2 c. hot water
4 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
4 tsp. soda
1 Tbsp. vanilla
1/2 c. cocoa

Preparation

Beat brown sugar, lard and eggs, then add sour or buttermilk. Add hot water, flour, salt, soda, vanilla and cocoa.
Very moist, good cake.
