Margaret Hanson'S Squash Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. yellow summer squash
    1 tsp. sugar
    1/2 c. mayonnaise
    1/2 c. onion, chopped
    1 c. sharp cheese, grated
    1/2 stick butter
    1 egg
    cracker or bread crumbs
Preparation
    Cook squash in boiling water until tender; drain well, then mash.
    Saute chopped onions in butter.
    Combine all ingredients except crumbs.
    Put in casserole dish; top with cracker or bread crumbs.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 35 to 40 minutes.
