Chocolate-Caramel Brownies - cooking recipe

18 1/2 oz. German chocolate cake mix
1 c. chopped pecans
1/3 c. evaporated milk
3/4 c. melted margarine
1 (14 oz.) pkg. or 60 vanilla caramels
1/2 c. evaporated milk
1 c. semi-sweet chocolate chip morsels
Preparation

Unwrap caramels.
In large mixing bowl, combine dry cake mix, pecans, 1/3 cup milk and melted margarine.
Press half of batter into bottom of a greased 9 x 13-inch pan.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 8 minutes.
In top of double boiler over simmering water, melt caramels with 1/2 cup milk.
When well mixed, pour over baked layer.
Cover with chocolate morsels.
Pour remaining batter on top of morsels.
Return to preheated 350\u00b0 oven and bake for 18 minutes.
Cool before cutting.
